One of the things I hear most often about people getting ready to retire is what will I do? Many people have jobs lined up after their retirement. A lot of the time they either continue with what they are currently doing only they may work less hours. That is great if they really like what they are doing. Some people take other jobs possibly in different fields. Again that is great if they really like what they are doing.
My thought is when people retire they have the opportuntiy to do what they really want especially if they continue to work. It helps to take a break and get intouch with your values and what you really like to do. When you do this you are more likely to be happier with the work you now do.
