How can back to school time be important to Baby Boomers?

You are probably wondering how back to school time can be important to Baby Boomers. I get excited about this time of year and it is not because I am going back to work or because I have kids that are going to school. It is because of all the new tools that are now on sale for kids to use. Just because I am not elementary school age doesn't mean that I can't enjoy some of the items.

Although I do like to do some crafts sometimes I find that I can use some items in my normal everyday life to add sparkle and shine to ordinary things. I purchase glittery pens to use when I write letters or notes. Imagine receiving an ordinary letter with blue or black in or a letter with purple, orange, green or red ink with glitter in it. How much more fun is that? Well maybe it isn't that high on the fun chart but it does add a little personal touch and something a little out of the ordinary.

Crayola has come out with some new tools. The one I like is the highlighter that can be erased. There are many times when I read something that I wish I could go back and erase the entry, well now I can. It actually works although it works best if I erase it right away. For some people the larger size of the highlighter might make it easier to hold. Another company has gel cushions they come in a variety of colors or sparkles, that go around pens or pencils to make it easier to hold on to or to comfort fingers when writing.

I encourage you to go down the back to school isle to see what you can find that can help you re-create your life add a little fun or comfort to your everyday activities. Remember it is OK to be a kid and use your imagination and creativity at any age.

Let me know what you do to make your every day life a little more special.

Laugh, thrive and have fun!
