Sex after 50, etc.

I watch some of the morning news shows and have seen Dr. Gail Saltz on the Today Show several times and she also writes for iVillage, http://gailsaltz.ivillage.com/health/2007/11/sex_after_50.html?par=today,wb .

Today she was talking about Sex After 50 as she has in the past. What drew my attention was that she said that we need to continue having sex or we may experience some physical issues although a visit to the doctor may help resolve the issues.

For many people there are circumstances beyond their control that affect their sex lives so I hope that a leave of absence will be permissible at least to some degree. As Dr. Saltz says though for many women menopause can be a big issue. The hope is that with new treatments doctors can help with menopause concerns if we talk to them and let them know our concerns; after all they are not mind readers.

I've also watched Dr. Christine Northrup, http://www.drnorthrup.com/?utm_id=1076&gclid=COiw0t73_48CFQGzGgodLh-WtA, on the Oprah show talking about alternatives that can help with menopause.

There are also many male issues that arise before and after 50 that affect their sex life and they should also consult with their doctor about new ways of treating these.

On the bright side of all this I think researchers are finding that for the most part sex can get better as we age. That gives us something to look forward to.

One of the "male issues" that's common among this group is Peyronie's disease. Peyronie's is a form of ED that affects over 1.4 million men in the U.S. alone! Of course seeing a doctor is the best thing a man can do if he suspects he has Peyronie's. I'd also like to suggest visiting Menshealthpd.com for further information.
